OVERVIEW
This project highlights earlier explorations in character design, spanning both hand-drawn & digital illustration. Though created nearly a decade ago, these works reflect my multidisciplinary practice and ability to craft characters that embody personality and storytelling.
BEAUTY DOUBT
Character design for conscious skincare
Beauty Doubt (疑美人) was created for IMED, a Taiwanese non-toxic skincare brand, as a digital character inspired by palace intrigue in ancient China, where vigilance and doubt were essential for survival. With a lighthearted twist, the character embodies vigilance and curiosity, reminding consumers to question the ingredients behind everyday beauty products.
I also developed companion figures — an emperor and a maid — designed with innocence and lightness to balance the theme. These characters made the brand’s educational message both engaging and memorable.
Through cultural storytelling, brand strategy, and digital illustration, Beauty Doubt became a distinctive mascot that strengthened brand identity while showcasing my multidisciplinary approach.
ANIMAL CHARACTERS
A playful exploration of personality-driven illustration, these hand-drawn characters were inspired by real-life connections.
Super Dog
Based on my own golden retriever, this energetic character embodies joy, loyalty, and a sense of childlike fun, bringing the warmth of a beloved family member to life in illustration.
Q Meerkat
Designed as a custom LINE sticker set for a friend, the meerkat captures his humor and quirks. To personalize it further, I invited him to write the dialogue himself, so the stickers would feel especially “him” in everyday conversations.
